The main focus of Junior Camp is to provide rising 3rd - 6th graders a place where they can experience meaningful relationships and a tight knit community in either the beautiful mountains of North Carolina or the lovely prairie country of Iowa, while they learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our well qualified and highly trained summer staff go through a rigorous hiring process. We make sure they focus on developing relationships with the campers while mentoring and nurturing them in their personal relationship with the Lord. Great teaching is paired with fun and exciting games to provide an environment that teaches, yet also engages kids in a unique way.

Sam Hodge
Brevard Junior Camp (June 22 - 27)
Sam serves as our Retreats and Resident Coordinator, overseeing the Explorer’s Project internship program and Retreat ministries. He and his wife, Hannah, have worked on year-round staff at Ridge Haven since 2021. Before that, they were on summer staff and actually met at Ridge Haven! Sam is in his final year of seminary at Covenant Theological Seminary and currently under care of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church’s session as he hopes to become an ordained minister in the near future. His favorite things to do are running, reading, and spending time with his daughter, Judah.
Archie Moore

“Uncle” Archie Moore is Ridge Haven’s Chaplain, and has been a speaker to campers at Ridge Haven for over 30 years. Archie has 50 years’ experience in pastoral ministry in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina, including 20 years pastoring Greenwood Presbyterian Church in Greenwood, South Carolina. He is married to his precious wife Glenda, and they are tremendously blessed with five adult-aged children and nine grandchildren!
