Want to explore a ministry of service?
The Explorer’s Project encapsulates our CSI Program, Gap-Year Internship Program and Ministry Internship Program. Students can join our CSI Program during the summer after their Sophomore, Junior or Senior year of high school. High School or College graduates can join our Gap-Year Internship. College graduates can join our two-year Ministry Internship.
The goal of the CSI Program is to provide high school students with an opportunity to grow in their knowledge of God here at camp, while serving in gospel ministry amidst a community of like-minded believers. This program helps feed our Gap-Year Internship which allows staff to invest more fully into the ministry and connect with the community of Ridge Haven on a deeper level. Often students are faced with intense pressure to figure out what the next step is in their careers and our hope is that the Gap-Year Internship allows individuals to take a brief moment out of their lives to seek what it is the Lord is calling them to do and how He has gifted them to serve in both their lifelong careers and local church, all the way being involved in Kingdom service here at camp and discipleship opportunities that are central to the program. Those who feel called to ministry or are seeking to develop their gifts for service often find that the Ministry Internship provides them further opportunity to cultivate their lives for Christ and harness the gifts He has given to build up the church.
We of course love it when individuals who participate in our Explorer’s Project decide that they want to spend the rest of their lives working full-time in camp ministry, but ultimately our goal is simply to train and develop leaders that will carry the gospel into every aspect of their careers and seek ways to invest in the mission and body of their local church.
“I came to the CSI program when I was a sophomore in High School. I didn’t really know much about anything and was kind of lost in my faith. When I came here, I met a lot of older, wiser guys than me and they were really impactful on my walk with the Lord because they talked to me about high school and the problems that they had been through already. I got to hear their stories and how they worked through things with the help of the Lord. It gave me a lot of work experience as well being here for the past 3 summers and then going on to a Gap Year. I get to do all sorts of random maintenance things, I get to work in the kitchen, I get to be relational – you get a lot of life skills when you work here. I started out with very minimal responsibility and I feel like I’ve grown into being a team player in any aspect of Ridge Haven.”
Ministry Internship
Ridge Haven serves not only during the summers, but year-round, serving over thirteen thousand guests annually. To support ministries and share the gospel with people all year we need hardworking, dedicated, college graduates (or the equivalent life stage) willing to work in event coordinating, marketing, recruiting, housekeeping, food services, resident managing, and more. This position is designed for young adults who are eager to enter into a ministry of service.
Gap-Year Internship
We are looking for passionate, talented, hardworking young Christians (recent high school graduates or current college students) who desire to serve the campers and guests while living and growing in a Christ-centered community.
CSI
Camp Summer Interns serve campers and guests by assisting in the everyday operations of our camps, conferences, and retreats. Working under the guidance and care of our Operations Staff, CSIs must be willing to perform a variety of tasks -- everything from kitchen and grounds work to leading activities -- for long hours while serving all age groups. CSI's are rising high school juniors, seniors, or college freshmen who are mature, hardworking, and committed Christians.
