Outline of Talks:
1. The story of David’s anointing (1 Samuel 16:1-13), “What really matters to God?” What really matters to God is a heart that loves him, and we can get this only through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
2. David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17), “Who’s your hero?”
Jesus will never let us down, so we should hope in him.
3. David and Jonathan (1 Samuel 20), “Who are your friends?”
Our friends will shape us, so God wants us to choose wisely!
4. David and Saul (1 Samuel 24), “Who are your enemies?”
There will always be people who mistreat us, but God wants us to forgive them.
5. David and Psalm 18 (2 Samuel 22), “Why do we worship?”
God saved us from sin and death, so we should love to worship him!

Illiana Presbytery Camp: Matthew Rabe

Rev. Matthew and Sarah Rabe are planting a PCA church in Cape Girardeau, MO. Matthew finished at Covenant Theological Seminary in 2017. They were then called to Northwest Georgia to work with a church in need of revitalization. They went to Georgia believing their job was church growth. Through much trial and even more error, they have learned that only the Holy Spirit can grow a church and that their job is the gospel. Seven years later, after their revitalizing efforts were blessed with success, Missouri Presbytery asked this couple to begin a new church work in Cape. While it is wonderful that many in Cape recognize the vital ministry need that the PCA can satisfy, and some are already willing to commit to a new church work, Matthew and Sarah see their primary goal as reaching the lost. Matthew and Sarah desire to serve Cape by introducing people to Jesus across generational and economic barriers through three simple means: Christ-centered teaching, Christ-centered worship and Christ-centered relationships. They have begun two Bible studies in Cape, one for the community as well as one at Southeast Missouri State University. Please pray that God would bring them face to face with those who need Jesus in Cape Girardeau.
